Visit Āhu Toŋariki
Āhu Toŋariki stands out as the largest restored ceremonial platform in Rapa Nui, displaying 15 mōai, surrounded by a unique landscape. Around it, fallen mōai can be found, which might have been part of a larger āhu at some point in history. Also notable is the “traveling mōai,” 4 meters tall and weighing 9 tons, which welcomes visitors. This mōai gained fame in 1986 when Pavel Pavel, a Czech engineer, used it to test theories about the transportation of the mōai. Additionally, within the site stands Papa Tataku Poki, a rocky outcrop containing petroglyphs related to traditional legends.
